Octarine Online is a free retro browser games archive based in Georgia, USA. This policy explains what the site collects, why it collects it, and how to contact us if something looks off.

Information we collect

Most Octarine Online games do not require an account. The Unfinished Kingdom uses optional passwordless Warden accounts during Alpha. We do not collect passwords or payment details.

The site may collect basic usage information through analytics, including page views, game starts, game events, browser/device information, approximate location based on network data, and similar technical details.

Analytics

Octarine Online currently uses PostHog to understand which games people play, whether pages load correctly, and where the site needs work. Analytics help keep the site from being a guessing game on our side.

PostHog may use cookies or similar technologies depending on browser settings and analytics configuration.

Local game saves

Some games save scores, settings, or progress in your browser using local storage. That data stays on your device unless your browser or extensions sync it. Clearing site data in your browser will remove those saves.

Advertising and disclosure

Octarine Online may add advertising later, including Google AdSense or similar ad networks. If ads are added, advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, personalize, limit, and measure ads.

Some future links or placements may be sponsored or affiliate-supported. If that happens, the site will identify those placements clearly. Ads, sponsorships, or affiliate links should not change the basic goal of the site: make small browser games that are easy to start and worth playing.

Alpha interest list

If you join The Unfinished Kingdom Alpha interest list, we collect the email address you provide, the signup page used, the consent-policy version, signup time, and invitation status. Cloudflare D1 stores these records so we can prevent duplicates and send occasional Alpha invitations or major development updates.

Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical information needed to protect the signup form from automated abuse. We do not store your IP address in the signup database. Joining the list does not guarantee an Alpha invitation. You may ask us to remove your email by using the contact address above.

Warden accounts

If you create a Warden account, we store your normalized email address, account status, login delivery records, privacy-safe device and network hashes, session records, verified game saves, and save-checkpoint history. This information protects progress, supports one active playing device, detects abuse, and enables account recovery.

Raw login links and session secrets are never stored. Login links expire after 15 minutes and work once. Session cookies are secure, HTTP-only, and unavailable to game scripts. Your email address is never displayed on a public profile or leaderboard.

Player feedback

If you send feedback from The Unfinished Kingdom, we store the category, message, game version, current floor, display-effects setting, viewport size, submission time, and the Warden account that submitted it. This information helps us reproduce problems, understand balance concerns, and respond through future game updates.

Reports waiting for a connection remain in that browser until they are accepted by the feedback service. Admin review statuses and private development notes are not shown publicly.

Updates

This policy may change as the site grows, especially if contact forms, leaderboards, payments, or advertising are added. The latest version will live on this page.
